The short version: Diff Anything does not collect, transmit, sell, or share your personal data. Your files and comparisons stay on your device.

About this policy

This Privacy Policy describes how the Diff Anything desktop application handles information. Diff Anything is developed by Martin Grüner.

Data collection

Diff Anything does not collect personal data or usage data. The app includes:

No analytics or telemetry
No advertising or tracking technologies
No user accounts
No cloud comparison or file-upload service
No remote artificial-intelligence processing
No automatic crash-reporting service

Files and comparisons

Files, folders, pasted text, comparison results, and generated reports are processed locally on your device. Diff Anything does not upload this content to the developer or to a third-party service.

Information stored on your device

Diff Anything may store app preferences, recent-comparison history, saved profiles, locally cached comparison snapshots, daily free-usage counters, and purchase-entitlement status on your device. This information is used only to provide app features and is not transmitted to the developer. You can clear history from within the app, and you can remove the remaining local information by uninstalling the app and deleting its app data.

In-App Purchases

Purchases and entitlement checks are handled by the store from which you obtained the app, such as the Apple App Store. Diff Anything communicates with the store only to load product information, complete or restore a purchase, and confirm entitlement status. The developer does not receive your payment-card details or Apple Account credentials.

Diagnostics and support

The app never sends diagnostics automatically. If you choose to export a support bundle or contact the developer, you decide what to send. Information you voluntarily include in a support request is used only to respond to that request.

Children's privacy

Diff Anything does not knowingly collect personal information from children or from any other users.

Changes to this policy

If Diff Anything's data practices change, this policy will be updated before the changes take effect. The effective date at the top of this page indicates the latest revision.
