This workflow answers whether stored cell values differ by sheet and coordinate. It does not compare formulas, formatting, charts, macros, workbook layout, print settings, or editing behavior.
A clean value comparison is useful evidence for a data handoff, but it does not prove that two workbook files are otherwise identical.
- Use the grid for stored values.
- Review formulas separately when calculation logic matters.
- Review formatting and workbook features in their native editor.

Keep the workbook structure visible
Choose a sheet, then review aligned rows and columns with familiar cell coordinates. Selecting a changed cell connects the grid position to the Differences pane instead of reducing the workbook to archive internals.
Diff Anything supports CSV, TSV, XLS/XLA, XLSX/XLSM/XLAM, XLSB, ODS, and Apple Numbers, including mixed-format pairs when a handoff crosses spreadsheet applications.

Spreadsheet extraction and comparison run locally on macOS and Windows. Diff Anything has no account, cloud comparison service, analytics, or telemetry.
Signed store builds may separately contact the Mac App Store or Microsoft Store for product, purchase, and entitlement checks. The workbooks and comparison content are not included in those requests.
